Hi everyone, I have a 54 plate 1.4 stilo with a couple of faults. Been skint recently but will be getting a bit of money in so it is about time I fixed them (or tried to anyway). thought I would post them together incase they may be linked. So here it goes.....

1) remote central locking. My fob isnt working on the key, changed batteries, left car battery off over night but still nothing. tried a couple of places and they have all said just under £100 and even then there is a chance it will not be sorted. So will one of these do the trick? http://goo.gl/0260S or something similar? or will it not de-activate the immobiliser? not sure how it works really.

2) creaking noise when lifting the clutch. Done a few searches and they said to grease up around the cylinder so will do this some time this week to see if it helps. Will need to find where the cylinder is first.

3) slight judder sometimes when moving off. feels like I am about to stall, difficult to find the biting point at times.

4) when the car is stationary it doesn't idle nicely and will sometimes rev up and down slightly, nothing major just slightly.

Also my bulb has just gone on the passenger side, I know how to change this, I just want you to feel sorry for me haha :bang:

Thanks everyone

Paul.

For the first one, you have 2 options.
1. Go to FIAT dealership, and ask them to reprogram the car to "listens" to the key.
2. Get yourself a OBDII cable (tons in ebay) an the latest FES (fiatecuscan.net) software, and do it yourself. You 'll also need the 5-digit card in order to program it yourself.

None of the above contains the Univarsal locking system you said.
The problems 2,3 and 4 are nothing compared to your bulb mate... I trully feel very bad for it! I' sorry. :D

PS: For prob #3 and #4 start with a GOOD throttle body cleaning, MAP sensor cleaning (if there), cranck shaft sensors check and your voltage quality.
Happy hunting!

Cheers for the help mate. I had my friend take a look at the key problem and he said the computer recognised that there was a key there so it wasnt lost. He said re entering the code may work but is it worth the risk of £80-90?

Its typical i start to try and fix things when the weather gets like this.

£80-90 for the dealership visit? It's only avisit. Won't take longer than 10 minutes...
Why don't you get a OBDII cable? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V1-4-ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-CAN-BUS-Diagnostic-Scanner-USB-/300611480502?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item45fdd72bb6

And then you just have to buy the software. Or if you get lucky, you might find someone in your region that alreary has it.
Who knows?

It worth that kind of money (20£ - 25£. Not 90!) because it's a cool little feature the remote key...

FES FTW!

FES is like £50 to register
OBD cables are like £10 delivered probably less

£60 over £80 ill let you figure it out AND FES does allsorts of other dealery type stuff its a one stop shop for 99% of faults.

the 'hunting' on idle im pretty sure will be a TB clean dont forget to run the relearn procedure after you've done it oh and dont pour stuff down there it breaks things. clean it up as best you can with a petrol soaked rag or similar. and dont force the butterfly valve

Thanks alot for that Richy, sadly most of it seemed in a different language so will try and figure out what you mean. Useless with these big metal things on wheels. Cheers for the help though mate and will look into everything that you have suggested. Will find wear I need to clean an look at getting one of them fes things tomorrow.
