Hi all ..can anyone explain what these 2 error codes actually mean B1902 B1901 in other words whats broke in my climate control Thanks in Advance..Anne

Are you sure you have quoted the correct fault code numbers?

I have
[FONT=&quot]B1901 Air Bag Crash Sensor #1 Feed/Return Circuit Short To Ground
B1902 Air Bag Crash Sensor #1 Ground Circuit Failure

which are nothing to do with climate control. So do you have airbag warnings too? What symptoms do you have showing up on your climate control?

i was using FES and looking in the climate control module ..only symptoms were one day last week EML came on and said check engine..before that it was glow plug that was fixed ..just wanted to know exactley what the codes meant B1902 Windscreen flap actuator B1901 windscreen motor feedback..but that may as well be chinese to me..lol..Anne

The Windscreen flap actuator will be the little motor that drives the flap around to direct the air onto the windscreen and feedback will be the signal from that motor giving its position so there is a problem with the circuit, the motor or the flap itself is stuck

For right hand drive cars the windscreen defrost actuator will be on the passenger side

There are 5 very similar looking motors. They look like this

left air mixing (blend) flap N78.JPG
There are 2 blend (hot/cold air mixer) motors, these are ones the lowest down, nearest the floor N78 on left hand side

right air mixing flap N79.JPG
and N79 on right side

recirculation flap control motor N82.JPG
There is a recirculation (outside air on/off) actuator N82.This is at the highest point

There are 2 air distribution actuators
The upper air distribution (Defrost) actuator is N83
The lower air distribution actuator is N80

1a=defrost flap actuator N83 1b= air dist actuator N80.JPG
The defrost actuator N83 for the windscreen is 1a shown here <<<<<<
The lower air distribution flap actuator N80 is 1b

I think I'd remove the passenger seat for access as it's only 10mins to remove it

Thanks for the info..the seats have all been out at one time or another..so that is not a problem i will try to have a look at the weekend ..my husband has a ford and wishes that there was a site as good as Fiat Forums for Fords but there isnt..Regards Anne

Not really, they are very much like the headlight height adjusters only even more simple than that. Just a little 12 motor, some plastic rack and pinion gears and the 3 wire position sensing potentiometer. Once the position sensor contact is lost say through a poor connection then it can't tell where the flap is but they are easy to take apart and the motors inside are interchangeable so don't throw an old unit away

I believe the drive connector from the motor to the air divertor flap is available separately if that's broken

Sorry for my English.

I am from Bosnia and new to this forum because I bought Fiat Stilo 1.9JTD MW 140hp.

The car is great, but I have one small problem, same as you described. My car is left handed so I need explaination how to change one of the actuator.

My problem is B1901 and B1902 Windscreen flap actuator but don't know which one. Cound't find it on internet right one.

Please if you have sheme how to remove it, send it over on my mail [email protected]

Thanks in advance

Hey guys,

have since 2 years a left handed 3 door Stilo JTD with 88kW and from beginning on problems with the 'sweating' windshield.
Even I let the whole airflow to the windshield and the blower motor to maximum, there is no flow coming out there.

Changed the inner airfilter with no improvements at all.

Yesterday checked with a chinese version of a ELM327 (and a slight mod on it) and MultiEcuScan for errors and got same 2 errors as the threadstarter.

Could you please explain, what needs to be removed, to get access to this motor?

PS: the air cooling system is also dead, but this is not so important for me.

Thank you

Hi Tim,

You can get acces to the motor if you remove the left footwel panel and the panel underneath the steering wheel. If you lay on your back and look (up) inside, you can see (and change) the motor:)

Hope this helps

Cheers

I am wondering if anybody knows where to get the drive connector thingamajigs to as my air wants to go anywhere but where I want it to go. Thanks.

Hi :)

Replacement electrical connectors.. on the end of the wiring loom?

Later FIATs have similar dash issues..

But are joint ventures.. so Vauxhall CorsaD and Ford Ka may well be identical
