Technical How many miles have you covered with your original stilo clutch??

Hey guys how many miles have you covered with your original stilo clutch before you had to replace it??
As my car Stilo 1.6 dynamic with 59000 miles on the clock and the clutch is really stiff and hard to press so probably will fail anytime soon.

60k miles isnt all that bad especially if a lot of that is town driving.

My JTD MW has done 99k and still feels as if the clutch is new. (The exhaust is all original too). Some parts of the car are real quality..a few aren't!

111k in a 55 reg 1.9jtd MW.
(It had a new exhaust flexi pipe 3k ago - rest of the exhaust is original, but backbox a bit tatty. Battery original too).

53 plate, 96k, original clutch, original battery, original exhaust.

02 plate, think one part of the exhaust got replaced before i owned it, it's done about 75k and the clutch is showing the same syntoms as yours, really stiff to push down, gears "clunking" in, and biting point really high, also there is about an inch of play when you put your foot on the pedal, not good

all the stilos clutches are quite heavy tbh

(well mine was a jtd).. but i drove a petrol the garage lent me for the day and it was the same

120, 000km on mine and still okay, although it now start to have a faint whine to it when engaging the clutch.

My 1.6 was quite heavy and could be easily over heated and subsequently slip :bang: while the wifey's 1.4 was light as a feather..horses for courses I would say and different transmissions and clutch sizes will have some baring on it..clutch ware can much of the time be down to driver style like resting you size 11 shuttle pods on the bloomin clutch pedal while driving and not changing gear

Mines done 123,000 but is starting to be a bit juddery now so i guess its nearly had it. Dont notice the clutch is heavy though.

122,000 on original clutch, battery and exhaust. If only the tyres and springs were as good

110 K on origional clutch and exhaust and it did it's first 70 k as a driving school car

66 000 my clutch just packed in but could feel it on its way out, thrust barings was going crazy before it when lol.:bang:

124,000 miles on my JTD MW. Clutch seems fine but I think the Dual mass flywheel has seen better days. I am getting vibration when it is over running. I think it will probably fail before the clutch.

Ah ha, so thats whats up with mine then. Mine has vibrated for months on over run. How much would i be looking at for the clutch and flywheel then???

probably in the £600 - £800 range, for parts and fitting. If you are getting it done, you should get them to change the crank shaft oil seal while it is all apart.
