hi there
ive just went to the hospital when my stilo went bang and now the engine is completeley ****ed can anyone tell me were i can get a replacement angine for my car preferbley a used one

cheers

errr, not many scrapped stilo's around even less 2.4's, would be cheaper to buy a new 2.4 mate tbh.

retail for a short engine is £4500 and gearbox aint much cheaper, so used ones would be the price of a second hand 2.4.

best bet would be ebay and trawl the local scrappies, but not much chance.

sorry dude:(

what exactly happened to it? isn't it possible to get it refurbished or is it a total loss?

like red said you'll struggle to find one in a scrappy, I could only find 1 3 door Stilo in the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area when I was looking for something.

Cheers for the help sorry i havnt been in touch for a few months but i forgot about the car lol i found an engine 40000 miles 2005 2.4 20v 850 delivered but surely there must be more than 1 engine in the whole of the uk

cheers

hi there wel my dad was driving it at the time through the hospital car park at about 20 to 30 mph and the engine just went bang and cut out tried starting it but only clicks no turnover at all had it at the garage nd they didnt know wat the problem was so im baffled it could probably be fixed but by the time i pay for the labour for somrone to look at it then labour to fix it and parts its gunna be a bomb thats y a thought a new engoine would be the best bet or the cheapest way

yes i think theres a problem with the engine nbut i cant seem to find any other posts relating to wat has happened to my abarth

You need to find out if the problem is mechanical or not (big end failure is very common but is also very obvious).

If it's NOT mechanical then it can almost certainly be fixed for a fraction of the price of a new engine - although having left it for over 10 months wont have helped
