On way to college today sitting in traffic my car started spurting out water from the coolant resivoir tank thingy, would this be because the fan didnt cut in? it cut in yesterday after a short journey to a friends house but didnt seem to today, have checked fuses and they're fine, could it be a bad cap on the resivoir or would it be the fan/switch or?

still got write off cinqi on drive so if i get a reply quick can try swap bits over

try swapping the cap. If it cut in yesterday then it should have been alrite. but if the cap is spurting water then you do need a new cap. nick the one off your old cinq heh or they are £3.67 from fiat.

you could try the switch aswell. but if you have a working system in ur old cinq then nick it all heh!

also; just thought, hit a badger yesterday (luckily not a big one, didnt destroy the car, and it walked away too, lucky fella :I) so its probably got something to do with that

dunno if its good or bad news but i found the problem now, it isnt free moving, catches on something, my write off cinqi is free moving so i presume it has to be that... now need to find out how to go about fixing it..... anyone live near banbury area?

removing the fan is easy

i fitted a new one in mine and i had to make sure it was alligned properly so it wouldnt catch.

at first i thought it was the wrong fitting or something as it seemed it'd never go on without hitting something, but they do - just slide under the car and you should see the 3 bolts holding the fan on

removing the fan is easy? where abouts are the bolts holding the fan? and what wires are plugged into it and where?

Wires are in a plug that 'plugs' into the fan motor. Fan mounting held onto rad by three 10mm headed screws.
