Hi
First post so go easy on me
I've just bought a 2007 scudo MK2 with the 2.0 multi jet engine from my work for the bargain price of £100 it's been fully serviced by fiat untill 5 years ago. it's been stood since then the engine is not turning over or even cranking I have a Haynes manual for what it's worth

so in my attempts to start it. I have wired directly to the starter from a new battery which turns the starter motor at what sounds to be a good speed but it will not start from the key I hear a single click when using the key to start. I get poor voltage on the Switch wire on the selonoid only 9.7v. so I have bypassed the circuit and fed 12v directly to the switch wire (small green wire) which still does not engage the starter the high power selonoid wire is getting a good 12.5v this leads me to a faulty selonoid can this be replaced on these starter motors?

This thread will have various problems I'm sure as I try to bring this van back to working order

Thanks in advance

Yes the code light comes on as I turn the key but goes off with most other lights although the engine check light remains I'm borrowing a proper odb scanner on Sunday to check what's coming up I'm picking through the cables and giving them a clean up as the whole engine bay is looking a bit rusty

So I've extracted the starter motor and tested the unit which works the solenoid coil has a resistance of 3 ohms and when energised engages the starter gear and the motor fires up so I'm at a loss where to go from here any ideas what I should try next?

I assume the above mentioned code light is the immobilizer light and the fact that it goes off tells me it's not the immobilizer I've checked the f8 fuse in the engine bay fuse box on my wiring diagrams from the Haynes manual shows the only other fuses in the circuit are the 2 maxi fuses on the battery and maxi fuse unit 1 which is on the high power side but I don't know where that is

So after some more playing around with the starter back in place it's blowing the f8 fuse (starter solenoid) in the engine bay fuse box each time I turn the key to start

I've also plugged in the odb diagnostics and it's returning 4 codes
P1693
P1694
U1118
And another I can't remember I'll update tomorrow I also can hear the fuel pump when turning the key and from what I've read I should be able to any ideas what to try next?

Can anyone tell which relay in the engine bay fuse box is the starter relay?

Quiet in here..

I would use the forums SEARCH ;)

If that doesnt find much.. start a new thread with the relevant question in the header.. so people flicking through will see it on the homepage.

There is a thing called eLearn too.. in your situation it could be very worthwhile

Good luck. Charlie
