Hello
Well I've not been on the fiat forum for a while, its strage to be in a diffrent area, I used to be in the seicento section daily.

I'm looking at buying a 2001 fiat scudo, its a 2.0JTD that has been chnverted for a wheel chair to go in the back.
(I dont really need that, this is going to be a works van so the ramp will make getting my tool box in easy)

The van has low milage, under 90k I think, but I don't really know much about these vans, so I have a few questions for you knowlageable people:

  • how reliable are these vans?
  • any common problems to look out for?
  • what spec will it have? electric windows, C locking AC?????
  • when should the timing belt and water pump be changed?
  • how much should that cost?
  • what PCD are the wheel nuts?
  • what sort of MPG do you get?
Theres probably some more but for now, thats all I can think of
I was looking at geetting a newer one but all the ones I've seen have either had turbo problems or lack of power and black smoke, are the new ones pants?

Thanks ya'll

No answers!

I've got a 2004 JTD (16v). It's good. It had a problem with a turbo hose holed a while agoo. Symptoms: lack of power, black smoke. Fix: find hole in turbo hose (look for sheen of oil on engine plock or body where it should not be, feel hose, find hole, fix or replace hose/intercooler/whatever).
