Hi everyone, I need some help.

We have a 2007 2.0 JTD Multijet. Vehicle went for an MOT and was running fine before hand and then it suddenly started to lack power, then started cutting out and then would start and then cut out after a few seconds and we have no throttle.

First thing we noticed on inspection was that the intercooler had expanded and burst at the sides which seemed to point toward it being blocked. Changed that and still the same. We also found the inlet manifold was chocker with crud so removed and cleaned that and all the ports into the engine. Rebuilt and still the same .
We have now removed the feed pipe from the EGR and have now got throttle and the van runs fine but huge amounts of smoke blowing out of the EGR and also out of the exhaust.

Question to anybody: Could this be the EGR or possibly the DPF blocked (it has no sensor) Help, really getting frustrating.
P.S. no faults are being shown on the reader.

Hi, :)
that's a list of issues..

ok, so the intercooler side is airtight and clean..??

when was the engine oil last changed.. when did the regen counter / oil degradation last get reset..? what does it read now..??

in my mind if you're getting clouds through the exhaust - then it's running on oil / fuel to excess.

 remove the intercooler supply hose ( leads to turbo) if it cleans up there you've got more issues with the cooler / it's pipework,
Charlie

Sorry for the late reply.
We changed the oil and reset the counters after we removed all the sludge from the inlet ports as some of the cleaning fluid might have escaped through, so that is all up to date.

We will try removing the turbo feed pipe when we get it back in the workshop and I will let you know what happens.

You did help with the reset on another scudo we have though as that was retarding itself every so often but since we reset it seems to have sorted it.
