Hi All,

Apologies for first post as a new user asking for help but I've looked everywhere I can think of and am struggling with this one....

I'm about to change the pads on our 59 plate panorama (ready for it's annual holiday run to Normandy), this will be the first time doing rear pads on anything that needs a rewind tool.

I'm a stickler for doing a job properly so am off to pick up a rewind tool set but wondered if anyone knows whether the newer scudo's rear pistons are threaded LH / RH or both the same? I'm loathe to do the job blind and end up winding a piston out as the van is in daily use and I can do without the hassle. I've even looked around for info re the expert / dispatch but there's nothing out there for any of them. Any help would be much appreciated.

If anyone's interested I can take some photo's and sort a little write up (so long as the weather is fit as it's a driveway job due to size).

thankski verski muchski

Hi
Done mine a while ago, handy to do, hadn't done wind out calipers before but don't think you could mess it up,easy to see pistons winding in and out.
Be sure to release handbrake when doing them.

Thanks,

good to know - will order some pads and a tool set in - was reluctant to pay out for bits without knowing either which way to retract it or that it was obv.

Job done.

Both rear calipers were RH threaded.

The standard kit doesn't have an adapter shaped like the notches (there triangular) but one of the small twin circular pin ones fit snugly.

As suggested it's easy to see the piston winding in so little chance of screwing them the wrong way and out. Biggest 'annoyance' was the dust boot on the end of the piston - despite only being a 59 plate the boot wasn't very flexible and it was a real pita stopping it getting caught and ripped, especially as the new mintex pads required the caliper rewinding a good way.
