Hi all. scudo 1.9td 1996. Left bristol airport today after two weeks. Van started fine ran for 10min then died on roundabout.. I'm sat in lay ny typing this :( first thought was battery.. battery was dead so I took my lesure battery up front connected it up and van turns over but doesn't start, doesn't even sound like its trying to start. . Next I disconnected the return line from pump turned over and no fuel comming out so fuel is not flowing through the pump. Next checked there is fuel in the filter housing so presumably not the fuel gauge. Could this be a fault in the keypad thing that allowss the pump to opperate or is it likely the pump itself or any other issue I'm over seeing? My guess is something electrical but no idea what? Please help its going to be a cold night in van tonight :(

Could it be stop solenoid? would this stop fuel comming back through the reurn pipe

Had the exact same problem you are describing.

turned out to be stop solenoid but it could also be the immobiliser which can be bypassed.

It cost me £250 for a reconditioned pump and cambelt kit fitted.

Quick test of pump. Just turn key and listen. It should run for about 3 or 4 seconds and then turn off. Check cut off switch hasn't tripped (on passenger side usually, under dash behind door post), little rubber button that should be pushed down.

Fuse is in bonnet fuse box(20 amp) check that and relay just in case. You can swap the relay with any other of the same size and type to check it but make sure it is EXACTLY the same size.

Thank you all very much for your replys.. this forum has a welth of knolledge, following your advice i rulled out the stop solenoid and through reading other threads i narrowed it down to air in the fuel system.

Sprayed some easystart and primed the fuel from the filter to the pump. Started and running!

Thanks again Fiat Forum! ... just need to sort the veering to the left now if anyone is able to answer my earlier thread concerning ARB :)

Lots of causes for veering. Tracking is the most obvious, low tyre pressure, binding brake, bent suspension, steering arm or wheel hub supports, knackered wheel bearing, steering rack, unbalanced loading (eg much heavier in one corner of vehicle), plus a shed load more that forum members will probably mention. Start with the free work and then tracking on upwards.
