Whatever chip it is will need coding to the imobiliser system of vehicle. Unless you have the tools to do this you will need an Automotive locksmith .... so why not just get an auto locksmith to provide the key /chip and program it for you?

No any key will not work

The only sensible thing to do is get an automotive locksmith to provide a complete key programmed to your vehicle . It will be cheaper and quicker than you attempting to get an unprogrammed imobiliser chip on its own.

Maybe look on ebay for a same series key as your van key,

It's possible to program a replacement, or 2nd key to the vehicles SYSYEM, Via the OBD ort

BUT

It may only clear the Immobiliser, not trigger the RCL

IS YOUR VAN a Remote Central Locking model

Some vans are basic... without power lock motors
