I recently bought a Boxer van 2004 plate with an inbuilt sat nav/stereo
(big sucker it is) and this wasn`t working,
Turns out its as rare as rocking horse **** ,and its of a fiat background,
Its fitted in certain stilo 2003/4 arbarths, and Ducatos ,I got a quote from peugeot for a replacement (get this £3,300 +vat) i had to resist orderering 2 of them (backup)
So i went the other option stereo repairs (a local firm safe and sound) these informed me there also fitted in Masserati,Well good on them
but they stillcouldnt get parts to repair.
So i was left with a 300/300 hole in my dash
when whilst getting a side loading door from yorkshire van breakers i saw its Cousin sat on his table
He said he got it out of a DUCATO, and look it has a taco slot on top,
keeping mum about the fact its not a taco but sat nav i haggled him down too £100 for the unit (if it worked when i plugged in)
well is sprang to life in my van an awful lot of the menus are in italian this i hope to get a manwel to cure but the sat nav does didly is posing questions in italian, being fluent in italian NOT i`m either going in search of an italian waiter or don coleone but was wondering off you chaps if the Navtech sat nav does nothing until cd/dvd is inserted, I have a disk from the pug headunit well 75% of the disk where it snapped a few time when i attempted to remove it from the dead stereo, and can`t test with that,
and second question are they completely the same has any1 an old nav disk or copy of manwel in english i could haveor purchase.

If it is the same as the Stilo or Ducato Connect Nav+ units, you will need a setup CD to change the language. You could also have a problem with the CAN connection if you're fitting it into a Boxer.

If the CD mechanism is working, a music CD should play in it but you will need a map disc to get the navigation system working.

Post a picture of the unit and the part numbers from the paper label stuck on top of it.

Your picture is of a Ducato Connect Nav+. The part number (735326251) is listed in the Fiat parts catalogue with a price but it doesn't say which model Ducato it's for.

Assuming the unit is fully working, the navigation module should work with the normal CN+ NIT G1 navigation disc, but I suspect you will have problems connecting it to the Peugeot CAN system. It's also likely to ask for the Master Code if you do get it connected.

Peugeot CAN system what is this ?
Peugeot dont even acknowlage that its fitted into there vans as standard
its an expensive optinal extra.
So i need to purchase a Fiat setup disk (am i correct)this to start the process, though why its reverted to italian i dont know.
and after that i need a uk map disk

and a prayer or two

CAN (Control Area Network) system is the communications network that connects all the ECUs (Electronic Control Units) in the vehicle together so they can exchange information with each other.

Does the unit you took out of the Peugeot look similar to the Ducato one? Post pictures of it, front and back.

Have you got the Ducato unit working while connected to the Peugeot Boxer wiring plugs or have you just connected it on the bench?

Here's a link for the Setup disc. You will need to burn it onto a good quality, blank CD-R at slow speed.

The Setup disc will only enable you to change the language, nothing else.

The procedure to change the language is explained in the Connect Nav(+) manual, on page 19 if the unit is a Connect Nav (monochrme display) or page 170 if it's a Connect Nav+ (multi-colour display). I suspect it's a CN+.

You can download a manual for the Ducato unit from the forum downloads section here:

https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=140

The second section of the manual is for the Connect Nav+.
.

it is exactly the same unit as far as i can see (buttons plugs part number everything except serial) the fiat unit works fine, photos are the peugeot unit,as the fiat 1 is fitted and a bugger to remove. the only diff i could see was the screen boot logo, fiat now but was a pixelated peugeot with the old 1 part of the fault.

Ive copied the setup disk, changed to english and now states needs map
i also get a screen where it give my lat and longtitude so it seems not to be coded,
unless coding is satnav only as radio/cd/ voice control is working and phone is asking for sim
what do you think take a punt buy a map disk (is this the same disk you have) and if so how much

If it's showing latitude and longitude co-ordinates then the GPS aerial and GPS module in the unit are probably working OK. I'm not sure what the Boxer has but the Fiat uses a combined GPS/GSM aerial so the phone should also work if you put a full size SIM card in it.

If it needs a code, it will need it for all modules but it will only ask for the code when the ignition fed supply is switched on. There is some updated firmware that bypassed the code but I though that was only suitable for the CN+ units fitted to the Fiat Stilo.

I looked at the stilo`s sat nav there was a few on ebay,
Its slightly different on the button arrangement, though i was contemplating getting 1 and attempting to switch faceplates.
as the rear is identical, and also in color like mine.
I also contacted a german company who specialised in mag marelli`s
with a view to repair mine, but quotes of £60 to £400 put me off
and was informed that a lot of the electrics in the Boxer/Ducato and Relay
are either bosch or fiat design and the immobiliser and Ecu are of a Fiat bosch partnership in all of the 3,and he beleived that the C141 wasn`t coded as the aerials and power leads and dashboard were too much of a task to warrent risk of theft. but you never know what to beleive.
