Re: Ritmo Abarth Convertible Renovation

As much as I don't particularly like Abarth replicas and conversions, I have to take my hat off to you! This job is so subtile and natural and not just a "badge job", I'm quite impressed.

I/we have a Strada 130TC and a Barchetta, and a rich history of other Fiats both natural performance (e.g. 127 GT, Punto HGT and my track modifie Uno SX) and others like the old Tempra 1.8 twin cam, to mention but a few. Each has a special and natural place that is not easily filled.

Your Abarth Cabrio (even though there was never such a beast in reality) is a real delight to see.

My blessings.......

Re: Ritmo Abarth Convertible Renovation

I never thought I would see another Fiat that would make me jealous after I got my Tipo 16v but you just changed that - I have had two Stradas over the years and would certainly get another one - I have always wanted one of these Cabrios, but just never had the opportunity, and yours is making me salivate like a dog right now! Great job mate - chuffed to bits for you!

Re: Ritmo Abarth Convertible Renovation

Hey Guys!

First of all.. I'm so sorry I haven't written a reply earlier.

Second.. THANK you for your kind and very nice words.
Can't tell you how much it means to hear it.. I'm very very happy with the outcome of the car. And reading your posts makes it quite emotional.. I'm sad I know! LOL

the work is not 100% done yet, but so far the car is out on the roads and driving it is an absolute delight. Just the feeling of driving in a tunnel and change gear and hear the sound from the solex is amazing.

what needs to be done more, the hood needs some work done to it.
sadly I managed to rip it myself
The inside of the doors need a replace, and it's hard coz there's not that many left here in Sweden. Anyone who might have some laying around?

Can't actually tell you how many hrs it's taken to have it done.
But the car went to the garage in early March of 08 and came out from there in the end of April 09.

until next time.. THANK You!

Uffe

Re: Ritmo Abarth Convertible Renovation

One of the thing I've had a problem with since I started this renovation was the interior.
As the door panels on the car I bought was in a bad state and needed to be refitted.
been searching high and low for these, which some of you might have seen on here.
Did eventually got ahold of a pair from Norway
Did in the end also buy a whole car just to be able to get all the bits and pieces I needed.
Not that many around these days.
Did also change the mechanism for opening the doors and also being able to lock the doors.

Re: Ritmo Abarth Convertible Renovation

I had a pair of the Recaro seats in the loft laying around, so I fitted these, however these were in black.
The rest of the interior is in Grey/black so in order to color coordinate I decided to refit the original ones I got when I bought the car in Jan 08.
What a difference it made looks very much like the other 130 I've got!
However the driver seat is wear and torn and need to be fixed which will happen sometimes soon, might have found a place that can fix the top aswell.

Door bins, the plastic tray that sits at the bottom of the door card and has the speaker grill....probably called door bins because people chuck rubbish in them.
