Did my old Croma Turbo i.e. microfiche with a scanner, then cropped it into individual pages. Not perfect, but readable.

Some of the pages around the edges of the slide had faded where they'd been exposed to light for several years, hence the lighter colour in some of these examples.

That's very interesting, how did you go about it? I assumed the scanner would be a no go as the magnification needed is too great, What resolution did you use?

I did them about 10 years ago so don't remember exactly how. At the time, all I had was a Medion MD5345 scanner with 1200 x 2400 dpi resolution. As I recall, I put the whole slide in the scanner, then cropped it with the scanner software into individual pages so the scanner would only scan one of the pages at a time.

The original JPGs of the example pages I posted above are; dimension = 1400 x 992 at 96 dpi.

Can you get a USB microfiche reader?

Have a good look see if the info is already available online, you may find yourself wasting your time & money.

Problem being these microfiche are a very different size to other ones, say medical record for instance. I'm sure some of the info is available but I was going to have it as a reference and put it on the forum as well for others.

That was the problem I found when trying to get a microfiche reader for mine. The Fiat one was a different size to all the commercially available ones.

Somewhat annoyingly, about 3 months after I'd spent days scanning mine, a Fiat dealer I knew was closing down and offered me one of their readers for free. :(

As far as I remember most car manufacturers fiche were a larger size than say the medical ones, Anybody here in Ireland have an old fiche reader I could borrow? I'm told to do that and take a digital photo of the screen shot is a good way.
