HI can eny one hellp my son has just got a punto soft top of ebay and he has been robed it has big problems
1 the roof dose not open it will run to shut but wont operate to open is there a manual way to do thiss or is it no go .
2 the heater wont go hot the blowe works but no heat
3 speedo is not working any one got eny idea's
it sits on the temp gauge at the half way point and he drove it 43 milles with out it blowing up . this is his firet car and he is guted he was ript of by a ebaying scum bag can eney one hellp by the way it a 1.6 bertoni punto soft top thank for looking

It is possible to operate the roof manually, but you have to bypass the hydraulics first, which is very simple. If you look in the boot, you will see a removable panel on the right hand side. Behind this panel you will find the roof motor and hydraulics. There is a tap at the bottom which you turn to disable the hydraulics and allow you to lower and raise the roof manually.

Sounds like the cooling system may have air in it. Try bleeding it.

Is it just the speedo which is not working, or all the instruments? If they all become intermittant, that can be caused by a dodgy connection on the ignition switch. This can be fixed with a new switch or holding the connector with a cable tie. We have been relying on this temporary fix for about three years now! If this is not the problem, hopefully one of the more technical gurus on the forum will be able to help.

If you can overcome these problems, you will have a great little car which is both practical, fun and great to drive. We have had our 1995 Cabrio for 10 years now and have no plans to change it.
