My punto HGT current mods;

GSR induction kit
Supersprint manifold
Decat
Ragazzon group n midpipe (minus silencer :D)
Powerflow backbox
Alpine CDA 9855 -R HU
RE 12" xxx subwoofer
2000w rms SPL dynamics amp producing 2kw @ 1 ohm
Ported box tuned to 25 HX
FK coilovers, lowered 60 mm front and 40mm back
OZ titans 16" (16" legerras this week though)

Im thinking of getting some styling mods including smoothed bonnet and flushed tailgate, but would you guys say to go for c/f bonnet @ approx £400 and save weight, ir the original which i can get smoothed and tailgate flushed forthe price of the C/F bonnet alone?

Also gettin remap end of october (should be looking at 160 bhp hopefully:D).

Cheers

Anthony

you cant do that!! if you get carbon fibre ya gotta show it off ;)

dont get a cheap one tho that wont fit well. i got my cf bonnet at rtec auto design, but had to get it fitted elsewhere.. it was a lite tuned one.

i think they got them on there website at www.rtecshop.com but i could be wrong.

carbon bonnets  about as cool as a rear wing.

whatever next, a start button? maybe you'll be wearing overalls and a helmet driving to work (school?) next week.

puntoboy has a really really nice mk1 (possibly the best?) he has a smoothed bonnet with black board paint, rest of the car in yellow and white, looks what a punto should have always looked like from the day fiat launched 'em!!!

always go for quality.
black morrette's
with a black bonnet
white alloys
and a yellow paint job,

oopps, described his again:rolleyes:

y not get a cxarbon fibre 1 and paint it to match the car so no1 knows?

what would be the point in spending all the money on carbon fibre to paint it he may aswell get a fibreglass 1 if he was going to do that much cheaper. lmao

He may want the weight saving and strength of CF without the look of CF ;)

I have a genuine carbon fibre bonnet lads.

Not painted. No point. The weave is too gorgeous.

I'm a big Carbon Fibre fan but i think it would look ridiculous on a punto, its more suited to big jap aggressive lookin cars, if i had one on a punto i would paint it as i think it would look out of place.,.
I wouldnt buy one just to save a little wieght as the difference in performance is going to be way smaller than the difference in your pocket.,.,

also theres no holes for washer jets on that bonnet???

Why on earth would you drill holes in it? I have my washers on my wiper arms.

Painting a carbon bonnet is also pointless as you may as well buy a fibreglass one.

I love the look of my car now with its carbon. Can't wait to get more of it.

Can you feel a diff with carbon comperd to the standerd fiat parts i would think same really as the mk1 body is lite enough but dont get me wrong carbon is gawjus to look at and how long does she take to do 0 - 60...?

Never measured 0-60.

the spoiler and bumper are not much different to standard parts, the bonnets weighs nothing compared to the standard one as its quite heavy.

The seat weighs 6kgs, which again is much much lighter than the standard seats.
