Can anyone help, ive bought a car off ebay well its a y-reg mk2 and it had no keys, so changed ecu and body computer and locks etc from a car with identical model/part numbers off the ecu and now although the car runs and drives perfect the backlight on the dash where the mileage is flashes and when you drive the speedo does shows about 100 times faster than you are!!!
at 20 mph im aparently doing 130!!!!

Can anyone help, ive heard about calibration is this anything needs doing?

Sounds like (assuming the car was ok beforehand-battery/alternator/earths) a clock timer/proxy-alignment problem, the body computer will not know what the cluster is doing...dealer only so bring your wallet to me:devil:

I wondered if it was the wrong ecu perhaps???? carnt be though, would the car still run perfect on the wrong set?????

how long does it take??? 30 mins but charged for 60????

Dont mind paying whatever, if it fixes it im happy!

I have fitted the wrong ecu before(ooops! quickly blames parts department)
to mk2(188)punto & runs.
Does the speedo always run fast or just sometimes, everything else on the car ok? Suggest proxy alignment (which might be what you were told calibration which is synchronizing all the modules clocks) & check for errors on CAN network, that should do the trick:)
Would take 10-15mins.....but we will charge you for 2 hours(£80+vat)cause we are evil Fiat dealers(evil laugh)   :slayer:

haloo
try to rev up the motor to 6000rpm ,3 times , in a quik sesion , because if you changed the ecu ,he has to do a fonic wheel learn to your car
hope you can fix it
