Hey all, I'm after a bit of inspiration.

My HGT is still rocking the original stock Blaupunkt cd player & changer. Was always planning on keeping it stock, but pretty tempted to try something new with it now. Missing not being able just to play spotify etc

Just wondering if there was an interface for the steering controls first & if the stock cd changer can still be used with an after market stereo (Even if it had to be blaupunkt)?

Maybe a bit OCD too but don't really want to have that block sat in my console there either if it can't be used.

I'd be tempted to rip it out and modify it to put some bloody cup holders in tbh as that's something else the hgt is sorely lacking ? but I don't really want to adapt the console either being one day I would probably like to put it all back to stock (though guess I could see if one was available from a breakers somewhere to modify).

For the head unit open to suggestions as well. Probably going for something pretty low budget (£100 £150ish) with aux & bluetooth, would eventually like to fit an android fold out screen jobby (or even a double din if possible) but want to make sure I get a few mechanical jobs done on it first.

Hi! I just had the similar idea few days ago. After modding the lights to blue color I decided to just buy another stereo. I want to be able to play music from usb or sd card
and to be able to use my phone with the car stereo. Went with a 4 '' mp5 single din stereo and gonna use it with reverse cam.These are dirt cheap. Planing to install the cam instead of the key lock on the trunk door.

You could also look on AliExpress or DHGate, these are chinese direct sites, you could pick up a cheap head unit with a reversing camera for less than £100. Gotta be careful of the dreaded import taxes though. Aske them to put on the package it is only $25 and you should be OK!

Not sure if this link will work. £80, only ships to the UK from China so you will need to ask them to put a $25 value on it.
Also, I don't think they have standard cabling plugs so you may need to do some cutting and soldering!!!
