Hi,

I have been without a horn on my 53 plate Punto 1.3 MJTD for a while but need to fix it ASAP for MOT.

Seeing that most of the solutions on here suggest that the problem most often lies with the airbag squib/clockspring I went to a scrappy and got the clockspring with stalks off a 55 plate petrol Punto.

Put it on today and it still doesn't work. I have tested from the engine fuse box to the horn and that works, so I know my fuse and my relay are OK, but nothing from the dash end. I am feeling like it might be f**ked because I don't really want to take the entire loom out of the dash to find the wire that goes from the column to the relay.

Anyone got any hints?

Thanks,

Seth

Did you check the 2 contacts to the horn itself?

The metal often gets corroded and a good scrub with wire wool or a screwdriver should sort it.

Quick fix for the MOT is to wire a push button to the relay coil and tape it to the dash. A bell push will do.
