Hi Guys,

So as most of you know the UK is currently having some extremely uncomfortable weather especially if you are driving and stuck in traffic.

My question is I am currently looking to get my AC Re-Gassed for around £35/40 they offer a FREE AC check, Before filling it up.

I wanted to know is it a requirement that you change your pollen filter or would be just as good Re-Gassing and switching the AC on ?

I dont think the Pollen Filter has been changed since it does Blow out some dust but the AC for cold has never been switched on since owning the Punto MK2B.

a new pollen filter is inexpensive and a very easy 5 minute job, If you've never changed it then change it, it's probably well blocked.

You don't mention how long you've had the car, if the air con has never worked the whole time you've had it, and you've owned it for a couple of years or more then its unlikely you will get away with it being recharged and carry on working fine.

Waiting to get my Fiat Punto 2004 MK2B to get Re-Gassed only to be told my Car doesnt have AC??

Is this correct or was the guy to lazy to look for it...

My Car inside does have the heater controls ? Or does it use the FAN for AC ??

Any Ideas

Visibly inside the car the only difference is the 4 speed fan switch is pushable for AC on/off with a central light in the switch for on. Visibly under the bonnet AC cars have two radiators and on the auxillary belt that drives the alternator there is a large pump for the AC connected to various hoses going to inside the car and to the front radiator.

I only have one Radiator that is at the front of the car, With a Fan Stuck on it ? I dont see any other pipes from it ?

If you don’t have a little snow flake symbol and orange light In the middle of the fan speed selector then no you don’t have aircon

You’ve not said what model it is but if it’s an active or active sport then they don’t have aircon only dynamic eleganza and hgt models had aircon, (there was an active “chill” that was a special model active with aircon) however 99.99% of mk2 and mk2bs are actives of some description without

Ach, a sense of humor goes a long way in my book. I feel that are some on here do take this driving/owning a vehicle malarkey too serious at times. I certainly don't want to offend anyone but as forums members are dwindling & are using social media sites more & more. The banter on here used to be good craic, sadly those days are gone.

Tip....Don't drink & drive, you may spill it....
