Hi from Berkshire
I have a fiat punto 54 plate automatic , great car problem is it goes into reverse fine but will not drive forward .. I have used my code reader and it came up with 2 faults , transmission range sensor a circuit input and another fault which was P1702 , any idea what that code relates too ??
also fiat dealership has never heard of the range sensor so another name for the sensor please

But try cleaning the Rear light clusters connections up

Its well known a faulty earth (well dirty/corroded/milky) Causes alsorts of weird issues with auto boxes

Its cheap and practically free if you have some sand paper

CVT ..hi and low

CVT hi and low gearbox , check ecu and cleaned connections on back lights still no change also checked relay

Still no luck in resolving this issue , getting a little frustrated now lol

that's the fault that its coming up with now , transmission range sensor , although the main dealers in slough say they have never heard of it !!! so im going to remove it and take it in to show them and hopefully get a replacement on Monday

all sorted , thanks guys .. rectified by alpha romeo not fiat ..
it was the sensor on top of the gearbox (under the battery tray )
