Hello to everyone.
I would like some help from you guys regarding my Fiat Punto Mk2. 8v
I`m having this issue each time I startup the engine. It has been a year or more now always starting like this. However it does not seem to be aggravating.
It starts to shake wobble etc, for about 5 seconds, a little throttle and everything comes back working smooth. Engine light went on from the first time the problem began about a year ago. Error code says that it is coil no2 fault. However I`m sure it is not as I replaced coil no1 with coil no2 and still the same fault was registered again. I suspect that the engine is consuming a little bit more fuel that usual as now I`m doing about 40mpg instead of about 50mpg as I used to do before. Don`t know if this has anything to do with this problem or could it be attributed to something else.

Could ve ecu but they usually fail and fail fully


Personally I would try new plugs and ht leads

it will look like its perfect if you observe sparks but the ecu momentarily goes down on one bank
had one the other week changed everything but finally realised it was the ecu temporarily going down and trust me here they arent repairable no matter what anyone tells you
for the record the one we had in the other week a full time mechanic working weekends for cash had actually fitted the wrong plugs and i guess this caused the back emf so check plugs for correct type if you decide to replace the ecu for virginised s/h replacement one

for the record i would have agreed with ziggy if it wasnt for the fact i saw it wi me own eyes after still changing all serviceable parts for andrew pages quality components
