My car has just developed a problem, as the title suggests, whenever I turn right my car starts to lose power n judders but keeps going, then when I straighten up it judders for a bit then calms down n drives fine, the fuel light flashes on to, but its alway after turning right? Anybody got any ideas?

whats it like with at least half a tank? still the same?

I think its a mk2, not sure, its got just over quarter of a tank

the only thing i can think of, is on the fuel pump there is a cup bit that holds the petrol so when you corner it doesnt starve of fuel, id check this, but while your there, try fitting a new pump/sender unit anyway (shouldnt cost alot second hand £20 or so)

If it was that cup bit, wouldn't it do it when turning left too? Have found some answers elsewhere but they have said it is the single point injector, but I'm not sure

Any noises from the tanks? Maybe a fuel tank baffle has broken free

If only a baffle on one side of the tank then only going to effect cornering on one side

Don't think there is any noise, will keep an ear open tomorrow on the way to work,

fuel light comes on or ignition lights?
fuel light is triggered at the sender in the tank
so diesnt detect fuel flow to the engine,just contents of the tank

Its definately the fuel light cos its the orange one underneath the fuel guage,

and this is what you are basing your diagnosis on?
well thats not really helping
the sender measures fuel via a float.
so turn a corner and fuel flows to one side of the tank
so the fuel light can come on (cinqs are notorious for it)
do you run your tank fairly low?

I'm not basing my diagnosis on just that, I turn right, the fuel light comes on, the needle drops, then there is a loss of power it jumps n jerks for about 5 seconds then drives fine, until I come to another right turn, it never does it turning left, the tank is about a quarter full,

Well, after filling the tank up, its nowt to do with the petrol flow or faulty gauges, found 3 of the HT leads had jumped off, but have now found that the timing belt is on the way out, and that there are some more things wrong with it than what I had first thought

i had same problem turned out spark plugs needed replacing..so i had them replaced and now the juddering as gone away .get them checked out !
