Good Evening all,

At the start of last week i noticed a dull knocking noise from the N/S front, the sound is like you have a tyre with a dodgy side wall ( the side walls are ok ), then today i went round a roundabout a couple of times to try and see if it made the noise worst and the knocking went but a grinding noise overtook it, the noise is like when you hit the brakes and the rear shoes are shot.

I am thinking front / rear wheel bearing & maybe anti-roll bar bush / track rod end, i haven't yet checked this as with two kids under 2½ my life is pretty hectic during the day!!!

Any help with this will be brilliant.

I'd Be wondering if the Front Brake Pads are metal on metal or nearly there
As that could explain a grinding noise - but not the knocking

as for knocking it could be CV joint or the diff Starting to let go

Go to a quiet area like a Car park at night

And Put Full lock on and drive in gentlly in circles - listening
as Full lock will show up a Weak CV joint
and then report back to us

Being so busy might be best get a garage take a look. Breakdown would be a "disaster" with kids on board.
