 Help i have a punto jtd, have probs with gears, there fine when
engine is cold, but when i have been driving for about 20 mins they become
really stiff and wont go into 3rd or back to 2nd gear. I am new to the forum
and have been reading other members probs with gears. my problem seems to be the opposite of theres as they have probs when there engines are cold.

so the draining bolt is bottom the gearbox (is it like doing normal oil change?) but where abouts do u fill it up with new gear oil on a sporting? roughly how much will good gearbox oil cost? and what one do u recommend to reduce stiff gears?

if you look at the engine from above you will see the part where the gear linkage is and clutch cable attatches to the transmition. now look at that area from under teh car and you will see a hex bolt on the underside by a seam and on the front of the housing roughtly in line with the drain plug and about halfway up the gearbox. AFIK it is just like doing a reg oil change.

and as for oil i think seliena do a transmition fluid for cars that have covered over 22k miles and fiat will reccomend that stuff but afik can only get it from them and its most likley to be expencive.
