I've had to move the car off the drive as there has been a tiny oil leak from the front end, MOT is this month but would rather know what the problem is without a big FAIL.

Another thing, after a little while of driving, a quite strong smell of petrol or oil of some sort fills my nostrils, to the point where i have to shut my window. Would like to know where that is coming from too

you probably have a weeping rocker gasket dropping oil onto the exhaust and burning off
basically you need to clean the engine part off where you see localised oil deposits,carb cleaner with a nozzle attached is ideal for this followed by wiping with a rag
you can then ascertain where leak is

That gasket is very easy to replace. They usually leak if re-used.

Use a little gasket sealant to hold the gasket in place and dont overtighten the bolts.
