Hi, I am new to this forum and looking to purchase a new Fiat Punto.

The reason why I am looking at the Euro Ncap as my husband and I are expecting our little baby son in May.

As going to be a mother, I just want to make sure that we are getting the best for our money and that will be good in a crash.

I am not aiming to be in a crash, but incase of the worst case scenario.

What is the Fiat Punto like with a baby seat and living with this as a family car, is 5 door best?

Thank you and look forward to the feedback.

I have an HGT (3 door) and while the baby seat has to be lifted high to get past the seat back its actually easier on my lumbar back doing up the seatbelt than in my wife's Ford Focus Mk1 (5 door).

In the Punto I can stand in front of the baby seat and do up the seatbelts. On the Ford I have to do it all sideways.

So the Fords being 5 doors makes it easier to get the seat in the car, but the Fiat having folding front seats makes it easier to do up the seatbelt. The Ford also needed a seat belt extender which was initially too long and had to be shortened. The Fiat seatbelt is long enough.
