I have a Mk2 Punto ELX JTD. Last night I noticed one headlight had gone out, travelled 20 miles and then the other one had gone so I was on sidelights unless I put full beam on.

I looked at the bulbs and they seemed fine. I put main beam on and the lights on the inside came on (the ones above the sidelights), i thought these were the dipped beam lights, can anyone confirm the two inside ones are the dipped beam bulbs? If it is, how come they are coming on when I put the main beam on but the others don't?

If I am mistaken and the outside ones are the ones that are dipped beam - how the hell do you get that panel off????? I unclicked the clip and it moves around but can't get far enough away to get at the bulb to take it out.

from the middle out it goes main, dipped. fog(if fitted) you should be able to get into the drivers side one, but on the pasemger side you need to remove the 3, 10mm headlamp bolts and the light will come forward a bit so you can just change bulb.

Cheers Dave - will go and get the 10mm socket out and give it a try when the weather gets better.

Headlights had to be undone on both sides but made the job a lot easier - still not easy but managed it
