Hi, i have only the one key for my o4 punto, really needing another one for the other half, i understand that they keys are chipped, i was quoted £100 from a fiat dealer, does anyone know any other cheap way round this? lol

thanks

Hi, as T said Fiat dealer is the only option at this time, as your car is a mk2b Timpsons won't be of any help as the chips are not available else where. If £100 includes programing key to the car as well thats a good price.

I wanted a new one because my chipped one is getting worn. I was quoted £140'ish for a new key for my Mk2 ELX from my local key shop who doesn't normally overcharge. I decided I didn't want to pay that much so he sorted me a new unchipped key for £5.00 which fits the doors and the steering lock but which won't start the car. I now use that to lock and unlock the doors and save the chipped one for the ignition. The price for a chipped one seems crazy but apparently, it's a complicated job to do one and you have to leave the car with them while they sort it out. Or so I was told.

What reg is that car?

That's probably not using a Laser cut key, I know most Fiats From 2004> use laser cut keys, which is a Fiat only job :(

Its costly because this is how Fiat make it hard for anyone to steal their cars. Its not enough to cut new keys or fit new locks. Fiats wont work without the original keys or correctly set up new keys. Lose that last key and you are in the do-do.

i got mine cut last week from a place called duplicut in birmingham, was £75, and took them half hour, which was stress free, hope it helps (Y)
