After taking my 98 ‘r’ reg 1.2 8v into the garage with very noisy tappits, they replaced the camshaft and holding mounting, re-shimmed valves to correct clearance.and he also cleaned the trottle housing, It is now when running at idle dropping down and reving back up to idle then dropping and stalling. But it isent doing it in any sort of pattern sometimes its fine then you can pull up at the lights and it will drop off again. But when the car is in gear it drives’s and sounds great. I was wondering if re-setting the ECU will do anything to help cure it. I have spoken the garage and they carnt fit it in for another week.

Thanx for any response

just disconect the battery that will re set the ecu and go round the block to set it up it will find its own setting.

It´s a bit longer for the ECU to learn then around the block(unless your block is about 300miles;) )If that doesn´t cure it i would look for disconnected sensors
