I have in the last few weeks purchased a 52 reg Punto, I love the car but the interior has not been all that well looked after.

I purchased some seat covers for it yesterday, but had to take them back as the front head restraints are not removable and so the covers would not fit :(

Does anyone know either how I remove the head restraints (they are fixed - there's no button to press to remove them like there usually is). Or does anyone know of some seat covers that don't need the restraints removing to fit?

Thanks ;)

no idea sorry, I own a mk1, seat covers are tacky anyways, get on ebay and see if you can get some sporting seats from the mk2 or at a scrappy's, much nicer :D

Yeah I did think about doing that, I should be working round about now but the office is quiet so i'll take a peek

hey well i av the racing ones from argos which are quiet good because they av a few different types... the Type S ones actually av velcrow so u can open it up and close it again... there are also ones that look like bucket seats that go over the head rest and sit nicely in the mk2 as those are the ones i av now

hope that helps

Ah cool, I knew there must be some out there that meant you didnt have to take the head restraints off. I was so annoyed yesterday when I came to put my covers on after spending hours cleaning the car inside and out!

Thanks Remus i'll take a lookie @ Argos then. :D

You can but covers that state 'seperate head rest covers' or similar you slide the seat cover over the seat then you can cover the head rest with the seperate cover if you want

Yea problem is I cant slide it over the seat because I cant remove the headrest to do so. I've emailed my local Fiat dealership to get a quote for some covers no doubt gonna cost a fortune tho. The argos ones were ok but not really what I was looking for, I dont really want the bright blue/red or the tacky looking leatherette. I want some plain ones in grey or black as it would match my interior better :)
