My 2001 Punto 1.2 ELX 8V has developed a problem with the internal heating. Despite the temperature gauge showing normal levels the blowers only give out cold air. I have noticed that the radiator fan continues to run for 30-60 seconds after turning the ignition off. Also last week, the temperature gauge suddenly leapt to its maximum, the red light started flashing, but only for 60 seconds, before returnig to its normal level.

Can anyone offer advice on this, so that I don't get ripped off by my local garage.
