Hi there to all I own one Punto MK2 2001 since 3 months ago... and the gama of problems in that car is quite nice, good thing is that the most expensive part that I paid was the cooling system for the air condition, now after several lamps changed, parts on the direction changed, alot of spray for cleaning contacts used I have one terrible and creepy noise in the clutch that makes me little bit annoying, when I press or release the noise is there sounds like the plastic is having something .. I try to see where but I cannot find the source of the noise someone can tell me what could be ? many many thanks

is the noise continuous and change when you press the clutch

or does it just happen when your foot is moving the pedal

if it's continuous does it sound like it's in the passenger foot well

if so it may be a warn release bearing

Hi there many thanks for answer the sound only happens when I press the clutch with my foot and release him the noise is there driving or not it doesn´t affect the operation of the car and I can use the gears without problem but the noise is making me annoying that even the radio cannot cover that noise.

are right well it could be a number of things from stiff cheeking pivots to a worn master cylinder or faulty servo

i cant imagine a master cylinder making that kind of noise working perfectly normally so that is less likely but still posible

best get the garage to have a look as I can't say for sure without actually hearing it or maybe you could post a video on you tube and give a link

what ever you do don't try and lubricate any of the pivots as they are all nylon bearings and if you do contaminate them with anything else than nylon pink grease then you will have yourself a hole lot more of a problem as all your pivots will swell and creek to hi heaven

the only thing you can use on them is silicone spray but it's a la'll bit ilegal to sell these days (silicosis and all) but i still have some

Hey mate i had same problem when i pushed on my clutch it made like a scraping noise, opened bonnet and became alot noiseier! There is a thing that moves down by the battery and the engine when you push on the pedal it squeezes and when the clutch is released it expands! Its like a rubber thing with 2 rods that operate it. Thats how i can best describe it.

I lubed it up and hasn't happened since. Get someone to push on your clutch and look in the engine bay for anything moving like i have mentioned mate. If its not that then may be a bearing or summit!

Hi there thanks alot for the comments, actually I still having having 3 units of silicon spray at home hehehe we use that in my workplace and we still selling here in Finland u can find on almost every gas station =) I know it is little bit illegal to do that but well meanwhile I go to the garage the next month (the car shop has alot of work now and it is the only one that I can trust) I guess I gonna use the spray, today the humidity and the rainy conditions makes him less noise, that´s weird =S

thanks for both of you to provide me some ideas and well little bit more acknowledge about the problems in that car =)
