Hey people of forum. I would like to know your experience about consumption in Punto EVO. I have 2010 diesel 1.3 55kW eco version and my current consumption is around 5L/100km. It is mix drive, usually consumption on highway is a bit higher, guess 130km/h is a bit too much for this little Punto. But my problem is more oil consumption. currently I have Selenia WR 5W30 oil like manual recommends but car consume around 1L/5000km, maybe bit more. Manual says 400grams per 1000km is still normal but i think its a too excessive. Car has cca 3,4L of oil which should be changed 30000km, but in my case 3L would be only for 15000km if it consumes 1L/5000km :S Next time i am thinking for do engine flush, then pour mobil 1 esp formula and also add liqui moly oil additive and to see if it still consumes that much. Last time i had to pour oil because i got low oil pressure, i also added liqui moly oil additive and car does works more smoothly. Maybe next time instead of oil additive i will add oil leak stop if it will still consume that much. Some people say here, that for fiat that is normal, that fiat consumes a lot of oil. What are your experiences? Btw i am sorry if this kind of thread already exists.

Im on my 2nd punto
Previously 2007 Grande and now a 2012 punto both 1.2 8v variant and both used a lot of oil;)
seems to be a common scenario with the fiat engine
I cant remember what is quoted in the manual but something like 100ml every 1000 miles
mine uses more i do around 8000 miles a year and use around a 1ltr of oil between services topping up.:bang:

Not sure about oil consumption but diesel is about 8L/100km for me with the 1.6 120hp one

But mostly city and road that goes up the hill :(

Fiat Diesel engines don't consume oil at all, unless there's something wrong.
First, a 30.000km interval is way too long, oil and oilfilter should be changed at 20.000km, or even better at 10.000km.
The .W30 maybe too thin at operating temps, so change to a .W40 full synthetic, and see what happens.
And don't use any additives, they will in anyway be useless, or will even harm the engine in the long turn...
Just use a high quality oil with the correct specs, and you'll be fine.
