So I took my 10plate Punto Evo in for MOT and it has failed on the airbag. The airbag light has been on, the seatbelt light on and also the mileage has been flashing for a month or so.

First garage I took it to has said that my car is not communicating with their computers so will need to take it to an auto electrician. He checked the fuses and nothing seems wrong there.

Auto electrician has said that if it is not the fuses it may need a new airbag module and they have great difficulty in sorting the issue. He said that it would be around £400 to have a new module fitted BUT this may not resolve it. The last Fiat Grande with same issue he had to send to Wyndsors and they wanted £3000 to put a new coil in.

Is this really the case??? It has failed the MOT on the airbag and until the airbag is sorted it won't pass, has my car come to the end of its life at 5years old? £3000 is a hell of a lot of money and probably not worth having it done.
