Hi all,
For the past few months in this cruddy weather I've been hearing a very rapid knocking/tapping noise when I slowly pull up to a junction or stop the car. I believe it may be brake related as I can feel a vibration through the pedals.
The sound seems to come from the passenger side wheel area. But to be honest it could be anywhere at the front of the car as the noise only lasts for a second or two when I'm braking to a stop.
It also only happens in the early stages of the car warming up, after this there is no noise when braking. My mechanical mates think the ABS/ASR sensor is damp and cutting the brakes in extremely rapidly but I'm not convinced as the car doesn't jolt or jerk about.
The only way to describe the rapid knocking noise is it sounds like the clapping part from the Friends theme tune! Brakes seem to be working 100% so I'm clueless to what the noise is. Any suggestions?
