Hi. First time on, need some help.
Punto Evo eleganza.2010.
Changed head unit to a GPS/DVD multimedia player. Connections use original harness with added canbus adapter. Everything works on unit, turn on,GPS etc.. however can't tune in any AM stations, yet FM tunes in. Thought it might be aerial but just tried original unit and AM works perfectly. Any ideas ?

Thanks for response.
Unit is set to Europe. Can receive FM but not good signal. Am searches but poor signal. Have posted on ICE section as I think it could have something to do with switching radio amplifier on. It's done by canbus on original unit . This has canbus adapter but I don't think it is switching amp on.

Does Evo have seperate radio amp or aerial amplifier ? Anyone got a wiring diagram for Evo.

Apparently need to run a wire to switch amp on. Can anyone give me more info please..as I can't seem to find a wiring diagram for Evo.

Hello,

Your antenna connection is good ? If loose it can be hard to tune.

Antenna amplifier is powered by pin 5 on connector A of headunit.Pin should be numbered on connectors.

If not, it should be the one with a switch symbol, check before connecting.

Thanks , but there are only four wires on car harness iso block. Live , ground, canA and canb, that's what's puzzling me.

Is that the actual car ISO block, or is there an extension fitted and you need to go back a bit further?

If the aerial amp is close to the head unit, often it is fed direct, not via the ISO plug. There also might be a small plug to connect to the smaller blocks on the radio. These may have dropped behind the unit and not yet seen by you. If the aerial amp is there, is its feed loose, or if not follow it to see what is on the end and to what it connects is anything. An alternative feed is the electric aerial output on the main power connectors.

Thanks. This is the connections on the car harness. This plug which consists of power and speaker connections plug directly to unit along with smaller blue and me plug. If I plug these into original radio everything is fine. Plug the same into aftermarket and doesn't seem amp is switching. Only other connection on new unit is aerial socket and canbus adapter. This has 3 flying leads coming out as well. They are, 12v switched, ground, and +12v rear.

Thanks . Here's pic of unit top.

And one of original radio.

Strange, the pin 5 near CAN A with the switch symbol should be the power for antenna. But if no wire on the car harness its hard to power anything...

Any other cable plugged facing the other switch symbols on others plugs ?

That's what's puzzling me. The car harness just has the 4-wire plug, speaker plug and top plug which just has 3wires for blue and me system.

Which are the 3,pins marked on the bottom plug on new unit.

Update. Took car to audio fitter today . he said it seems radio and amp are switched via canbus as there is not an amp lead and only a permanent live on car iso block. The radio switches on ok so either canbus is not switching aerial or unit is faulty, either way he couldn't give me an answer ! Very frustrating.

Wow, more complicated than I thought.

I remembered I removed the radio last year, and fortunately I have a pic of wiring :

You are absolutely right : only 4 wires to this plug. So no antenna amplifier signal here.

My information is from Grande Punto documentation. So I assume since evo wiring has changed a lot (more multiplexed).
