I was just wondering now a few people have evo's.. what total mileage are you getting per tank?

Full tank > Fuel light coming on.

1.4 MultiAir (Eleganza)
I used to get 310 at 33mpg
The past 3 fill ups however I've noticed I'm getting about 270 at 35.3mpg - and at £55/tank that strikes me as somethings wrong.

This seems like a large drop in consumption & my routine hasn't altered much, plus i'm getting more mpg on the read out so I can't be chewing up more fuel than i used to.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed any change in there total miles/tank ?
Or better yet, if anyone has any idea's why mine's altered so much... I was expecting the mileage to get better as the engine got broken in, not worse!

Your post is really confusing, plus you seem to be mistaking higher mpg for higher fuel consumption?

A "large drop in consumption" = using less fuel for a given mileage = more mpg, not less.

Sorry about that, the "large drop in consumption" line should of been corrected! "large jump in consumption" - but it's too late to edit now

Aside from that however, Yes.. my cars telling me i'm getting better mpg (35.3, as opposed to my regular 33)... but my tank seems to have lost a good 30+ miles worth of fuel.

Gaz, out of interest do you do alot of motorway driving or is that mostly town/carriageways?

yep, mines about the same. 38mpg and 320 miles. I only ever drive mine on B roads (average always less than 30mph) and it's a sporting.

to be honest its mainly town, and carriageways, i use the motorway maybe twice a month, my uncle (fiat salesman and also evo owner) gets 44.7 mpg out of his, 11 plate 1.2 active and he drives motorways 3 times a week

People seem to be getting much higher figures than I do, I always saw 300+ out of a tank up until recently.... maybe my drivings gotten sloppy

I'll have to do some eco-runs and just see what kind of mpg I get & see how much i get out of a tank, if i can't get 300+ out of a tank I'll mention it to the dealer when it goes in for a service.

It's a very difficult question to answer, and hard to tell if there's a problem unless someone with the same car does the exact same sort of driving as you. If you ever feel like looking at my Fuelly, on average when I'm just tootling back and forth to work, because it's all stop-start with only one section where I can actually get any speed up I'm often getting 0mpg just sitting still going nowhere, lucky if I can average 32mpg. Compare that to earlier this month where I was heading all the way up to Elgin and back for my Gran's funeral, not being (purposely) economical and getting almost 53mpg. It's such a difficult question to answer that - unless your MPG is shockingly low - it's difficult to pin down if there is even a problem.

Yep i agree, the area I live in is surrounded in short-stretches of duel carriageway.. all 60-70mph but all controlled by traffic lights, very often i'm accelerating to 60-70, just to stop 3minutes later & repeat 4-8 times to get anywhere.... so 33-34mpg is my average.

But up til recently I've always had 300miles out of a tank, initially i thought maybe I had some duff fuel but now its 3 tanks in a row i'm starting to question it.

I did a road trip to Manchester a couple of months ago at had around 41mpg, which wasn't bad as I wasn't particularly trying to be economical. - overall I did 360miles that day on 1 tank, unfortunately no plans to goto manchester to test it for awhile ;)

no idea what i get but i get between 35-60 mpg depends how i drive. i average 44.5mpg but have seen it reach above 60 on mway. 1.4 8v.

but dont forget that the temperature has dropped so cars use alot more fuel. plus if your not using the start stop the range drops ive noticed.

when i use start stop the range is far better than when i dont use it.

In a 1.6 Mjet I average 425 miles a week and that takes me from brimmed to an 8th of a tank, the light comes on at about 390.

The trip says it averages 55mpg. It's about £55 to fill up from an 8th of a tank to full.

That's with normal driving, no hypermileing. 300 miles are done on the motorway, the rest is a mix of A, B and town driving.

Its only done 3000 miles though, so it might even improve from there as it loosens up.
