i own 2 mareas a 1.9 td100 and a 1.6 estate both of them have main beams that are focussed very low on a par with te dipped beams on my previous car a peugeot 309d anyone have a similar problem thanks in advance

Just below the instrument cluster,on the left hand side of the steering column in my LHD Marea, there is a knob that controls the main beam height. I suppose that on a RHD vehicle it would be in the same position.

i know what you're talking about! if you adjust the dipped beam correctly then the main beam is too low, they cannot be adjusted independantly. pity

If the eletric adjustment does not work, try to make new set up on the two bolts that fix the beams on to the front dash panel.
There is a possibility to lift up or down but my recomendation is to do this on at a garage (beam adjustment) or get on a new Marea, the distance between the botton of the beam itself to the upper part of the bumper.Them you can provide a kind of gage (plastic or wood)to adjust them.
