Hi I am a newbie. I have a 2007 1·1 panda, I have fitted a power outlet to the wiring beneath the blank plastic trim by the feedstock-the wiring connector was there but it only has power when the lights are on! Is this right? Or have I connected to the wring outlet / connector? Will I overload it running a dash cam and phone and so blow my lights too? Thanks for your help

chances are the power cable, while there isnt connected at the incoming end of the fuse box, if that makes sense

If its for a dash cam look under the interior light, there will be another connector for the electric sunroof that will be live with the engine on

btw also in the centre console you could find the wiring for the electric mirrors, I couldnt get the live to work on them but your mileage may vary

Running the socket from the dash lights may cope with a USB outlet but anything else will at least trip the lights and may well cause damage.

PS I have a ciggy lighter plug in USB phone charger. How nice - No - it's rubbish TBH.

The thing disconnects over road bumps so your phone arrives flat. As that's all I ever use the socket for, a USB outlet would be a great deal more useful.

This one has a voltmeter. It wont be fantastically accurate but the trend on engine start is all you need to know. The USBs cant shake loose so win win.

Fuse F85 is normally missing if a cigarette lighter isn't factory fitted

this is in the black fuse box under the bonnet.

If both the contacts are in place then there is a good chance all the wiring is complete and all that is needed is a 20A fuse

There is an outside chance a relay is also missing. T31 this could be either under the bonnet or by the steering wheel depending on how Fiat wired the car.

I read quite a lot of posts regarding powering a 12v socket, it seems that some vehicles have a fuse and no relay some have the relay which is not connected to the fuse.
I checked my fuse board and noticed mine didn't have one of the supply relays (apparently there are two relating to a socket) so I ran my own feed
I ran a wire from the battery positive with an inline fuse, through the grommet about half way down the bulkhead, then behind the carpet to the center console then to the socket.
I ran the negative to the earth point under the center consol.
My 12v power socket is fitted into the square space just in front of the handbrake. I also fitted a switch so that the socket can be powered off when not in use or to power everything down simultaneously (sat nav, dashcam phone charger etc.
