:) Hello there fellow Panda drivers. Collected my 1.2 Dynamic Air Con a week ago, very pleased with it. Ex-demonstrator just coming up to 12 months old in guacamole green. I don't see many at all around West Yorkshire, not sure how many they are selling. It makes me think they are not that popular in UK at least not round here. Selling well in Europe though.
Anyhow, back to the post. My driver's side wiper blade is making a right noise, juddering as it sweeps the screen. Has anyone else had problems with them? Drove home tonight in lashing rain and it kept distracting from the general quiet calm inside the car.
It may be down to some wax or substance on the screen or the angle of the blade. I may just buy a replacement - looks quite large, at least twenty inches. ;)
May invest in some alloys at a later date. The wheels look a bit too small at 13 inch and only 155 width. Absorb road bumps well though and lower profiles would not be as good. The standard Fiat ones look a bit plain. I fancied some alternatives, five spoke or similar.
There are some really neat touches on the Panda, I like the 'theatre' style courtesy light dimming when you activate the locking. Intelligent wash wipe and trip computer also impress.

Hi and welcome. The Panda is selling really well in the UK, what you have to remember is that it is a very small car and traditionally UK buyers tend to buy cars a bit bigger, especially when the current Punto isnt really any more to buy. However, you made the right choice as the Panda is a far better car. Re wiper blade, it shouldnt do that, just ask your dealer to replace it and give your screen a good clean. Good luck with it, oh and cool for getting a green one!

My first Dynamic had this too noisy wiper blades. A bit of investigation found it was not the rubber blade as it did it from brand new. The problem was where the blade hinges in the arm, it was very tight so when the arm swept over the screen the rubber blade was at a bad angle and made a noise - yes it was noisy on mine too.

The solution some WD40 (penetrating oil) on the hinge.

My new Dynamic doesn't do it!! yet

Regards

Ian

Thanks for the tip. I will take a look at it once it stops raining and there is some daylight (probably weekend).
Yes, it probably is true that UK drivers prefer a slightly bigger car, eg supermini, Punto or Fiesta for the same money. However they don't have the same character as small Fiats like the Cinq or Panda, and if you keep a car for a good few years then it is really important to enjoy it. I couldn't think of anything more boring than a Corsa or Fiesta. I have only seen one other Panda on the road near me, none are 'Guacamole green' or 'Easy Listening green' as Fiat now call it.
I was going to have a black one, my previous Punto was black, but I was brave and decided on the green, second choice being yellow. The roof bars are funky and add to the look. Every day I commute and there are rows of red, silver and black cars then my Panda standing out!
I just hope the Panda catches on and they bring out more special editions etc. Its a great car.

Good choice of colour (y)... I think the Panda looks best in nice bright colours. Mine is yellow or at least it would be if only the rain would stop long enough to give him a good bath :D

Sorted it. Bought 2 new Bosch blades this morning and they are fine. 22 inch drivers side, 16 inch passenger.
