The red oil can light came on during a journey. It remains on after turn off and restart.

The oil level is fine on the dip stick.
I'm hoping this is a wiring fault or sensor fault.

Has anyone come across this before. What is the suggest route to find the cause?

Thanks

I have one of these but I'm not sure it has the correct plug. I will have a look.

I tested the sensor and it is about 1 ohm with engine off and open circuit when engine is running. Which seems to show the sensor and oil pressure are ok.

There is 11.8 volts at the plug. I'm wondering if a reset might solve something by taking the battery cable off for 15 mins.

OK I know on the pressure.
Oil and filter change about 3k miles ago.

Just restored power and the light is working correctly.
I downloaded the codes and there is one. Oil pressure switch and circuit malfunction.
I have a new switch coming tomorrow. Not sure about the connector though. It seems to move around a lot.

Have a look at the wiring at the pressure switch. Chafing and shorting to ground will cause the light to come on Even a builld up of dirt on the connector can cause issues with modern electronically sensed circuits.
