Hey I am new any help will be appreciated.

My car is a 2005 Fiat Panda Climbing 4X4. Its done 125000km, and just 3 month ago I changed the clutch and fly wheel. That's the background now the problem.

In 1st gear there are no problems, changing to 2nd gear is fine but once I release the clutch and accelerate a bit, a second later the car vibrates wildly for about 5 to 10 seconds then continues to vibrate slightly. It does it in 3rd gear as well. In 4th gear it does it but not as bad as in 2nd and 3rd. 5th gear is the same as 4th.

What do you guys think it can be?
And has anyone else had a problem like this before?

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.

It will probably all need to come out again.

You need to determine if this is vibration - out of balance, or judder.

Vibration could be an out of balance flywheel, not fitted correctly, or an out of balance, or damaged clutch cover.

Judder could be caused by a damaged or bent centre plate, or a misalignment between engine and gearbox.

Alignment - gearbox fits onto engine backplate and locates using dowels. Ensure that these are in place and doing what they should. They can sometimes be displaced, or if forced can damage the gearbox or backplate. Check that the engine backplate is not damaged or cracked, as if it flexes it can cause misalignment problems.

If the gearbox input shaft is offset from, but parallel to the engine crankshaft, the centreplate will run eccentrically. The witness mark on the cover will be a larger diameter than the plate. If left, this will tear the centreplate apart. The springs will become loose in their housings and the centre splined boss will become loose.

If the gearbox shaft is at an angle to the crankshaft, the centreplate will flex. This will tear the centreplate, usually between the centre part and the linings.

If you used any oil or grease on the gearbox shaft splines, this will have spun out onto the linings and will cause judder.

If when refitting the gearbox, it was allowed to hang on the centreplate, otherwise unsupported, this can bend the centreplate, which will never recover and gently tear itself apart, similar to the shaft being at an angle.

Take it apart again, checking its fit as you go. If the cause is not obvious, post some pics on here, this may help.

Thanks for the reply.

It turns out the problem is the propshaft, lucky the whole thing does not need to be replace. From what the guy said it just needs to be taken out and balanced.
We think the problem could of been caused by the guy who changed the clutch.
