hi we need new tyres and the car has 175/65 R15 84T when I do I tyre search on tyre websites a lot of 175/65 R15 88H come up? are they compatible? and would I need to inform the insurance company that I am running a different tyre than what is in the fiat manual. any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

yep most websites show H and T ratings but as I say are the H ones ok to put on and if I do, will I need to inform my insurance company

You'll be fine. The no-no is to reduce the load rating (i.e. to go from an 88 to an 84) or the speed rating (i.e. to go from an H-rated to a T-rated). You're fine, as you're going the other way.

Better sticking to exact same size. Huge choice. I replaced all 4 as only 1mm difference. Knew they would brake evenly. Got B braking (now C) rated under 70db Goodyear Ultragrip 9 Winters. Lot better than original ones in summer, braking much better. Won't get 35k miles again off this set the way I drive. May run to under 3mm if weather warmer.

But the size is the same. Just the loadrating higher (88 vs 84) and the speedrating is higher. As said the other way around would be dangerous.
