Its patently clear that the wallies in Turin think that they need to call the standard carpets 'Mats' as none ever have the accessory mats fitted. Hence they are an accessory! As the web site recons the twin air will do 65 mpg and that the 4x4 has drum brakes on the back axle nothing these idiots say will surprise me. I found a 'configure your Waze' site on the Fiat web site. Hooray I thought, will be able to find out what the spec includes. It clearly states the Waze 4x4 has climate control and 5 seats / head rests and belts all of which is complete cobblers. Mind you it does direct you to configure a City Cross.......
I have written to Fiat and pointed out that this sort of hogwash does little to inspire potential customers. As you might expect there has been no response. Their written information is riddled with error and inaccuracy and they have so many previous versions of the Fiat web site linked to dealer sites there is little point in looking... ALso remember the disclaimer on the back that says they can change the spec at any time and you must consult the dealer.
Fiat should stop their ignorant misuse of English and just publish in Italian if they are not capable of better descriptive than this. Google could do a better job of translation after 16 pints of beer!
Rant over until the next time I think about it.
I am still waiting for my waze, but I shall be checking it out very closely before accepting it, and if it is damaged in any way I shall reject it outright and go but something else, or even not bother. What dealer worth their salt would try and pass off a damaged car for a new one. I did experience this once with a Renault. I rejected the car as soon as I found out and this was 4000 miles down the road! To their great credit the response was " Sorry, there will be a new car ready for collection at 5pm this afternoon" and there was just that. Full marks to that Main dealer in Norwich for that. Its a lesson that you need to check a new car very thoroughly indeed before accepting it. PDI inspections are just not detailed enough to identify faults. Its no wonder people mistreat dealers when sending in their PX's with this sort of behaviour. Do please name and shame this shoddy dealer so we can all avoid them in future.
