Our Panda Pop 2012 1.2 has a radio with a media button.

When pressed it says 'no source'.

I know how to fit the lead but does it need different firmware (as my daughter's does) or will fitting the lead be sufficient?

I love having projects to research but picking people's brains on a forum is so much easier and cheaper!

Cheers.

my panda is 1.2 lounge 2014 with continental radio..

Hmm, interesting. Fiat make an official box to do this with a USB socket as well, but want to charge over £100 for it! Only problem with this lead, where to mount the socket on the dash? That cone-shaped arrangement looks difficult to stick anywhere as it has no sides to attach a sticky pad to. Any tips? I may just buy this if I could see an easy (ie. no holes to drill in the dash) way to locate the socket.

You have to click the CD button on the head unit a second time for it to change to the AUX setting mate!

2012 Panda and it has a media button not cd.
Pressing twice does nothing more than select cd. Daughters is the same. Press cd once and you get cd. Press cd twice and you get......cd.

You can buy some sticky things to mount the cable, I got a magnetic phone holder for the air vent and used these sticky things to hold the cable up to the mount as you can see in the photo attached.

Hmm. Thanks, I appreciate the advice and I may find somewhere acceptable to do this, but I don't like the idea of a cable draping round. I'd want to tuck it away and I'd never be able to find the thing as small as it is. A full usb+aux box would, strangely, seem neater to me. Not at the price Fiat want to charge though. Hmm. Perhaps I can find a project box in Maplins or something to make a more permanent looking installation.

you can see how i fit it in my tread ( davidoff's panda ) ;)

Do you press media twice to get this input?

Pressing media twice with a cd in gets me

1) cd
2) no source Available.

But with phone playing music still gets no source message. Is this because the lead is wrong (it was listed for a punto but the pin out is the same)? I have just metered the lead and the correct pins are connected.

Thoughts? I just don't want to throw more money away if I can help it!

OK so there is the wrong lead and there is the right lead.

EVEN WITH THE RIGHT LEAD IF YOU ARE STUPID IT WON'T WORK!
As I found out!

Fitted the lead after finding it needed a little trimming and it didn't work.

Cold and frustrated I left it. Went back a couple of nights later down powered the radio for 10 minutes, fitted the lead, still wouldn't work. Now I'm thinking I'll fit the aftermarket radio I've got.

Today I gave it one last try in daylight. Still won't work..............unless you put the lead in the correct position.

I was fitting it to the AUX in pins not the CDC pins. How stupid do I feel?

Still now I have a white panda pumping out ac/dc at top volume!
