I've ordered the winter pack too, I was under the impression it was a Ford style full heated window but now Squodrone has mentioned that I am not so sure?

Just rang the dealer, I am now code 20, it's alive!
?

Don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, the Fuhrer is responsible for that department and a car only gets named if it's worthy - I.e. It's got character. Somehow I don't think the Cross is going to be found wanting on that score?

If it does arrive in December there is the dilemma as to whether to wait until 2015, somehow I don't think I will be able to resist, impatient sod that I am!

no its like the ford one, which will be great for me coming out on frosty mornings from night shift

are you saying it is not worth getting these options no parking sensors or city brake assistance? as they are two that i feel i need.

also sorry for being such a "girl" but what options do you think are needed?

mine
front fogs
heated windscreen
space saver
city break and rear parking
tom tom port
= £13645
£207 month x 48
interest £375
1.2%
for some reason the calculator wont let any of my changes ie adding my deposit, then clicking update quote, it just stays the same as the above workings, funny enough i can change the payments on the cross quote

The APR starts so low on the trekking that the configurators figures have to be altered in very small steps. Watch the total amount payable figure get closer and closer to the total OTR + 285fee.
WAS YOUR INTEREST OF 375 INCLUDING THE 285 FEE?
How much deposit did u want to put down? Remember the first 1850 represents the PPS FDC. That's the best thing about the trekking, no serious deposit required to get near to zero interest.

OPTIONS: I thought fogs lights came as standard on the trekking.
City break is useful if u have a habit of rear ending people.
Parking sensors, really, its a panda! If you need them, get them.
Get a colour you can live with, the metallic blue is nice but then you have no choice of interior. Don't use the fiat website to pick the colour, use google images of real photos.
The leather steering wheel option is a must, this advice came from this forum.
Pick ur own seat configuration but people rave about the 4 sliding 50/50 rear seats.
Predisposition for tom tom.
If i was going for a trekking then i would have picked tints, front seat table, comfort pack and climate control.

The cross figures can be played with more as it starts way up at 3.8%.

Why would anyone wait til 2015? You don't gain a different number plate. When resale value is worked out, it does go by its month, not just the year. I want it over the festive period, as I'm always on holiday and therefore have the time to mot the cross in future years, even if its snowing!

If anyone has a girl cross, then it's gonna be a tough wee b'tch that likes to get dirty?
My dealer pal is off til Wednesday. I won't know if my one is still in bits or sitting on its own 4 tyres til Wednesday.

oh gosh... a lot of work for me lol wish i wasnt going away on tues [for 2 wks] as i really am keen to sort this

parking sensors....theres a wall rather close to my drive, last thing i want is backing into that

ive never had air con before so not sure the extra for climate control is needed, unless someone can convince me otherwise.

front seat table looks a great little novelty but isnt that what it is a novelty or does it have use?

AND why is a leather steering wheel useful?

sorry for all these questions, but i have never purchased a brand new car before so im 1. bit nervous bout it and 2. really want make sure i get exactly what i want and dont just pay for options i dont need or miss options i should have got

Many will say how horrible the hard plastic steering wheel is.
The passenger seat folds fully forward with the table, so you then have the full length of the wee panda to carry things.
Comfort pack: height adjustable seat belts.

This is also my first new car, and I plan to live with it for many years. I have had climate control with my Alfa, u keep it set for normal temp, then it controls how hard to blow and to where. I'm sure it'll work well with the heated windscreen. Without CC, u turn everything to Max and to the screen, then 10mins later your roasting and half asleep due to the heat. It also looks nice on your dash. Its standard with the cross.

Are u going twin air or 1.3D?

ps am i being weird by saying this is all so exciting ???

Can't speak for the others on here, but personally I'm loving your enthusiasm!

GardX is a waste of money, and if you want it (personally I've never bothered, but then I'm not very risk averse) gap insurance can be bought much more cheaply than you'll get it from your dealer.

The leather steering wheel is a luxury, but it feels soooo much nicer to hold!

ok thanks, i can so easily be talked into buying these extras, if they are worth it then fine if not then i dont want waste my money

im really excited, my current car [renault clio] has been brilliant cost me £1100 , and it is an embarrassment now lol its taken me months in research looking for the car i want and to decide to buy brand new esp as other half is trying to convince me to go down 2nd route...again

but my mind is made up, its a panda trek, i want to enjoy driving again as at the moment i hate it

I would always spec leather for "frequently fondled" bits such as steering wheel, gear knob and hand brake. Very few plastics are remotely as tactile as leather, mind you Alcantara (a Lancia first) is rather good but we are talking Panda here and it tends to get specced only on overtly sporty jobs such as Abarth and Alfa.

Bundes nailed the climate control argument, dial in your temp and it sorts it all out for you. Don't believe any of the nonsense about being able to set different temperatures at either side of the car though, with something as narrow as a panda you would be hard pushed to notice the difference. Oh, and it does look good on the dash.

I have gone for reverse sensors for the simple reason I have had them on my past half a dozen cars. I have no issues reversing any car but I have got into the very bad habit of relying on them. I have also gone for blacked out rear windows for the simple reason I often carry bikes or fishing gear and I would rather they were not easily seen.

My Cross will almost exclusively be used as a 2 seater so the arrangement aft of the driver is of no consequence to me but were I a habitual passenger carrier I would def spec the sliding 2 rear seat option, you do without the annoying roof mounted centre belt and you would avoid accusations of cruelty for trying to jam 3 people in the back.

I love bum warmers, quite often I rely on these rather than the heater, they are also rather good at drying you out after a soggy day fishing or waiting for the Fuhrer to finish a fell race or Ultra. Never had a heated windscreen but I can only imagine it's a good thing - providing I can avoid noticing the element of course.

i cant seem to update this on the fiat calculator ie by adding in my deposit, as id like to see the difference if i put in £2000 or even more

It is exciting but its important to keep control of your head. Make sure that you can afford the repayments and especially the end payment if you plan to keep the car.
Don't know what these other extras are. I understand gap insurance but due to me paying over 3grand deposit plus the FDC of 3250 then I should always be ahead of its value.
The last option I swithered on was the tints. I have always been a " don't leave anything visible on the back seats " person, but I have never owned a panda with a small boot. The dark tints stop a jacket catching the eyes of a scummy bawbag walking past your car.
If you have a deposit and the end payment then I would consider the cross! Really cool car and once you have paid for it over as little months as you can, its worth something if you sell it on.
Did you read about the deal I got myself.?
