Does anyone know if the diff carriers used in the 4x4 model are based on the Fiat 124? I know the ratios are different, but is the carrier itself the same?

Asking because the Fiat 124 design was licensed to Lada, who in turn re-used the diff for the Niva. Now the Niva has quite the following, so there are plenty of interesting parts avaiable for these cars. Among which is a limited slip differential which is available for about 10,000 Rubbles (120 GBP), or for a bit more if you're going through an eBay reseller.

I believe the 124 diff carrier was also used in the Uno Turbo Mk.1 and 2, so it's at least plausible it continued on in the 4x4 Panda..

Is it the rear differential case? Panda 4x4 project was driven by Steyr-Puch so probably more luck with S-P Haflinder.
I do follow the BAND4x4.ru and Kranodar.ru and their Niva modifications but unfortunately can't see any similarities between panda and niva. nitro_warrior any comments?

Now if it is indeed correct that Lada reused the old Fiat diff, and if Fiat themselves continued the use of the same differential, then it should be possible to install this LSD in a Panda..

What would be the benefits of LSD in rear axle of Panda 4x4?
LSD for front diff are out there and it does have some justification in 2wd car with approx. 100hp.
Rear axle diff lock kits are available from Italy with manual on/off, same as Y10 4x4 rear axles will do the trick.
