Hmmmm...

...could work. ;)

So I could have had this...

...Mad Max rwd only Panda with nothing but a lot of work going for it at a bargain £360

This basket case Sisley going towards £500+

This slightly less basket case Sisley...

...for around the £500-£600

But I decided this would be better...

...with twelve months M.O.T and tax until the end of February for...

£350

:slayer:

The project begins as soon as the chap's Golf passes the M.O.T and he doesn't need the 4x4 any more. ;)

All the Peterborough stuff is basically ballast. If I want to use the car off road less weight for the little engine to move about would be much better than weighing the poor thing down. If I ever have to go to Peterborough I'll get a hire car for the day...

http://www.classiccars-forsale.com/land-rover-city-cab-1994/

So as with so many of my projects going through the procrastination phase I have changed direction almost completely. The 4x4 will get the FrankenFiat engine originally planned for Guff II (that project will be a little more "me" now I have more time), (as it looked knackered) the back seat and rear quarter windows removed to make the car into a van (more weight saving primarily), some off road additions (winch, tow bar, muddy tyres and a slight elevation). The car will be white with the new graphics and a couple of modern tweaks to make the whole experience more comfortable (Red leather Alfa 147 seats to match the graphics maybe?).

Still no Thumbsnap so this image is from Facebook and may need resizing.

The car hasn't arrived yet so I'm having to use my other Pandas as a template...

...literally...

...reupholstering the mouse riddled back seat would cost me somewhere between £60-£100. A sheet of metal and an hour or two of my time has set me back £12 ;)

While I had the Fantasia windows off I cleaned the rubber seals and surrounding frames.

I'm no soccermom. ;)

I've used the Fantasia as a van far too often. She's getting a bit fed up carrying engines and stuff and I need to treat the car a little better.

A friend of mine has just been on the phone distraught. His dads Focus ST has been top and tailed in traffic. It needs new bumpers, a bit of tailgate massage and paint.
"Can you do it?"
"What colour is it?"
"Glacier white".
"No problem".

Looks like I'll have a Glacier White Panda 4x4 van. ;-)

How did 'Mad Max' become 'White van man' :(

All the Mad Max stuff would be ballast. I keep using my Fantasia as a van so it makes sense-ish. The car is white so to keep the DVLA off my back the project needs to stay white.

WOW!

That's such a quick reverse - I never heard the beeping

It's all too easy for these Mad Max projects to end up looking like a magnet in a scrap yard :p

I'd have trouble welding them on if they're painted first. ;)

I was thinking of drilling holes and putting a lip trim around the outer edge so they can be opened. The 4x4 is decadent enough with its interior adjustable door mirrors.

I know a very very good artist who'd be well up for a bit of sign writing...

Liquid Knight Racing

....maybe.
