Hi There Can Anybody Tell Me How To Get The Condensation Out Of The Drivers Side Headlight On A Mk2 2000 X Reg Punto? Its Making The Headlight Aim Very Low In Front Of Car,it Seems The Lens Has Condensation Drops On Inside That Has Dried To It Also Not Helping,can The Glass(plastic) Be Removed Un Clipped As It Looks Like It Can And Lens Then Can Be Cleaned?

I think the dealer solution is to drill a hole in the back, one at the top, lets out the condensation and one at the bottome to let out the water when it cools.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong...

Hi, My son has a 2000 X plate which had the same problem on the drivers side lamp The lens is sealed to the front during manufacture and is not designed to be removed. I took all the lamps out of the back and used the missus's hair dryer to gently warm the front of the lens and evaporate the moisture, but within two days it misted up again :bang:
Eventually found the thermostat was permanently closed and the moisture in the lamp unit was from the steam escaping from the pressure cap on the cooling system. The temp light never came on tho, (worrying!!) Replaced the stat and the lamp is perfectly clear now. There should be a breather pipe on the radiator side of the lamp, check this is clear, it should allow moisture to escape when the lights are on and warm.
Next job for me is to replace the cheap instrument unit for one with the rev counter and temp gauge. Hope you fix yours!!
